Jardin William: A private daycare celebrating diversity and nature for its 7th anniversary!

Jardin William invites the media to discover a series of events in line with Quebec values and rooted in inclusion, respect, and ecological awareness. On February 6, between 9:30 and 11 a.m., our open house will allow you to experience this immersion and discover what makes Jardin William so unique. During this visit, guests will be able to explore our bright play areas, our creative ateliers, and our urban garden, and meet our dedicated educators who accompany children every day in both French and English.

We welcome families and the media to join us at our open house to discover our environment, dedicated to helping children flourish through a pedagogical program inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and applied by a passionate team who share the common goal of becoming the best daycare in Montreal. Children are encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and explore materials freely, while educators carefully observe and document their learning projects. Our screen-free approach, small groups organized by age, and emphasis on autonomy, cooperation, and respect create a safe and whimsical setting where every child’s individuality is recognized and valued.

In an era when insufficient subsidized spots, high educational staff turnover and the shortage of qualified educators are making headlines, come and discover why our team is so stable and loyal. By investing in ongoing professional development, creating a collaborative work environment, and recognizing the essential role of early childhood educators, Jardin William has succeeded in building a cohesive team that grows with the children and their families.

Sophie Apollon-Auguste, our founder, shares: “For the past 7 years, I have been organizing free events open to the public during Black History Month to open the doors to an exchange between parents and the community. These gatherings are an opportunity to highlight black voices in children’s literature, to spark meaningful conversations, and to introduce families to diverse narratives from an early age.”

“This year, I want to repeat the experience by organizing an ephemeral Mommy & Me Book Club. We have selected the book All About Love, by author Bell Hooks, and will be reading children’s stories by black authors.” This intimate and interactive moment will invite families to reflect on love, empathy, and kindness, while discovering authors who celebrate the richness of black cultures through accessible, age-appropriate stories. The free event  part of the Black History Month schedule will be held on February 22nd, 2026.

Our “Forest School” day camp, currently open for registration, invites children to experience nature through the Raconte-moi une forêt program. Through guided explorations, storytelling, sensory activities, free play and outdoor play, participants deepen their connection with the environment while developing their curiosity, confidence, and motor skills. This will be our 5th summer of creating memorable summers for kids aged 4 to 13 in southwest Montreal. Children discover parks, green spaces, and the neighbourhood through themed outings that combine science, arts, and movement, all while being supervised by experienced camp counselors.

Journalists, families, and neighbours, please join us for an exclusive experience of quality and intentional childcare services. Whether you are seeking a bilingual daycare, curious about Reggio Emilia–inspired pedagogy, or interested in initiatives that promote diversity and nature-based learning, Jardin William opens its doors to you.

Together, let us spread the word about these initiatives that reflect the aspirations of our society and contribute to building communities that value inclusion, environmental responsibility, and the well-being of children and their families.
